Why this is different

Nobody who books a cleaner wants to become the person who checks

The way commercial cleaning usually fails is quiet. The contract is fine, the price is fine, and then the standard drifts a little each month because nobody is in the building at nine at night to see it. By the time anybody says anything it has been wrong for a quarter, and the conversation is awkward because nobody has anything to point at.

So the thing we built first was not the round. It was the record. Every visit produces a report with the list, the times, the photographs and anything that could not be done, and it goes to whoever you say rather than sitting in our system waiting to be asked for.

  • The same list every visit. Agreed once, worked room by room, each line stamped as it is done. Not a description of a standard, the list itself.
  • What was skipped, and why. A room in use. A door locked. A machine left running. The line no cleaning contractor volunteers, and the reason the rest of the report is worth reading.
  • The site log, signed on the way out. Who was on site, when they arrived and when they left. Useful the day somebody in your building asks who was here at eight last night.
  • Photographs of the areas we worked. Desks, washrooms, break area, floors. Taken on the spot, so a standard is something you can see rather than something you take on trust.

Example visit report

Arrived 18:30, left 20:15

  • Reception and entrance: floors, glass, seating
  • Desks and surfaces: wipe, no papers moved
  • Kitchen and break area: sides, sink, appliance fronts
  • Toilets: pans, basins, mirrors, restockNot done: the accessible toilet was locked and in use. Flagged at 19:40.
  • Floors: vacuum throughout, mop hard floors
  • Bins emptied and liners replaced
  • Sign the site log on the way out

How a visit works

Three things happen, and you see all of them

  1. BeforeWe agree the list and the hours

What gets done, how often, and when we are on site. If we cannot reach your postcode we say so on the spot. No card is charged at booking.

  2. On the visitThe cleaner signs in and works the list

You know their name before they arrive. Reception, desks, kitchen, toilets, floors and bins, each line stamped as it is finished rather than ticked off in the van.

  3. AfterThe report goes to whoever you name

Photographs, the list, the times on site, and anything skipped with the reason. Billing is after the work, itemised by visit.

What is included

The list itself, not a description of it

The same list that appears on the cleaner's phone, and the same list that comes back to you ticked. Anything on it that was skipped comes back with the reason beside it.

  • Reception and entrance: floors, glass, seating
  • Desks and surfaces: wipe, no papers moved
  • Kitchen and break area: sides, sink, appliance fronts
  • Toilets: pans, basins, mirrors, restock
  • Floors: vacuum throughout, mop hard floors
  • Bins emptied and liners replaced
  • Sign the site log on the way out

What it costs

The more often we come, the lower the rate

Worked out from how long the job takes and how often we come. A place that is kept on top of takes less work than one we visit once, and a visit is never shorter than 2 hours.

How oftenAn hour
weekly£23.00
fortnightly£24.50
monthly£26.00
one off£28.00

The same rates as the rest of the business, and the same on the prices page. A visit is quoted as a whole rather than as an hour, because an hour is not the thing you are buying.

Out of hours, and getting in

Most small sites want cleaning after the last person leaves or before the first arrives, and that is the normal shape of this work. Keys, fobs, alarm codes and door codes are held encrypted, and a cleaner can only open yours during your visit, on the phone we issued to them. Every time a code is taken out you can see who took it and when.

If your building has a landlord, a concierge or a shared entrance with its own rules, tell us at the start and it goes on the property record rather than into somebody's head.

What we clean, and what we do not touch

Reception and entrance, desks and surfaces, the kitchen or break area, toilets and their restock, floors vacuumed and hard floors mopped, bins emptied and relined. That is the standard site list and it is on this page in full rather than described.

Papers are not moved, screens are not unplugged, and nothing on a desk is tidied into a drawer. If a desk is covered we wipe what we can reach and the report says so, which is a great deal less annoying than the alternative.

How it works in practice

Products, equipment and anything you specify

We bring our own products, unless you would rather we used yours. Sites with a policy about what may be used on a surface, a treatment room or a piece of equipment tell us once and it is noted against the property rather than left to whoever turns up.

If your building requires a method statement or a risk assessment before anybody works on site, ask and we will talk you through what we can supply.

Billing, and what a bill actually says

A month at a site becomes one document: every visit, what was done, what was not, and the total. It is itemised by visit rather than reduced to a line saying cleaning, so the person approving it can see what they are approving.

Nothing is taken before the work. You are billed after the visits have happened, which is the same rule the rest of this business runs on.

Not included

There is no key holding or alarm response service, no window cleaning above ground floor, no specialist floor treatment and no waste collection beyond putting your bins out. We can recommend specialists for these.

A tender pack is not included. If you need one for a procurement process, ask and we will tell you what we can provide.

Questions

The things people actually ask

Do you clean offices outside working hours?
Yes, and for most sites that is the normal arrangement. Early mornings before the first person arrives or evenings after the last one leaves, at times we agree once and keep to. The report tells you exactly when the cleaner was on site, so out of hours does not mean out of sight.
How do you get in and deal with the alarm?
Keys, fobs and alarm codes are held encrypted and released only for your visit, to the cleaner working it, on the phone we issued to them. Every release is recorded with who took it and when, so there is a trail rather than a shared code somebody wrote on a whiteboard.
How much does commercial cleaning cost?
It is priced from how long the site takes and how often we come, at an hourly rate that falls the more regular the visits are. The current rates are on this page and on the prices page. A one off costs more an hour than a weekly round, for the same reason a taxi costs more than a season ticket.
Do you bring your own products and equipment?
Yes, unless you would rather we used yours. If a surface, a treatment room or a piece of equipment needs a particular product, tell us once and it is noted against the property so it does not depend on who is working that night.
Can we set our own checklist?
Every workplace visit follows the site checklist printed in full on this page, and the report comes back against that same list, line by line. If your site needs something that is not on it, tell us before you book.
How do we know the visit actually happened?
The site log is signed on the way out and the report arrives after every visit with the times, the list and photographs of the areas worked. You do not have to be in the building at nine at night to know what the standard was.
Do you do one off or deep cleans?
Yes, including an end of tenancy or a clean before a site reopens. A one off is priced at the one off rate, and we will tell you if what you are describing is a specialist job that somebody else should be doing.
How are we billed for a site?
A month becomes one document, itemised by visit, listing what was done and what was not. Nothing is taken before the work happens. You see the visits before you see the total.
Which areas do you cover for commercial work?
The Caerphilly borough and Cardiff, the same districts as the rest of the business. Every district has a page of its own under Where we clean, and the form on the front page answers for your postcode straight away.
Can we change or cancel a visit?
Yes. Free until noon the day before, with no phone call. After that we charge, because the cleaner has already turned down other work for that slot.
